Traveling in China is convenient thanks to its diverse transportation options. Below is a detailed guide to help you navigate smoothly:

1. Public Transportation

- Metro
Available in most big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen etcs. Fares range from CNY¥2 to CNY¥10.
Pros: Punctual, fast, and supports QR code payments (Alipay/WeChat Pay).
⚠️ Tips: Avoid rush hours (7:30–9:30 AM, 5:00–7:00 PM).

- Bus
Fares: CNY¥1–CNY¥5, covering urban and rural routes.
Pros: Budget-friendly for short trips.
⚠️ Tips: Use navigation apps (e.g.,  AMap) for real-time routes. You can pay via Alipay in almost every cities in main area.

- High-Speed Rail (HSR)/Bullet Trains
Connects major cities at speeds of 250–350 km/h.
Booking:
  • Official site/app: 12306 (requires ID/passport registration).
  • Third-party platforms: Ctrip, Fliggy (English interface, foreign cards accepted).
⚠️ Tips: Arrive 30 minutes early for security checks; carry original ID/passport.
Reminder: When you register 12306, you need to entry your details (see entry guidelines), after you registered you need to verify account. You can add passenger first since you need to waiting for 3-5 working days to verify, so please make sure to submit all the passenger information IN ADVANCE)


- Flights

Ideal for long-distance travel. Book via Trip.com.
⚠️ Tips: Arrive 2 hours early for domestic flights or 3 hours for international flights.


2. Taxi/Ride-Hailing

  • Taxis
    Metered fares start at CNY¥10–15 (varies by city). Hail on the street or find designated stops.
